Music Makes Sense - 011 - Tom Jay (4th Birthday Countdown)
Ahead of our 4th birthday we asked a few of our guests to put together 30min mixes of music you can expect to hear on the night.
Inspired by a childhood upbringing of Acid and Chicago House, Tom Jay’s influences originate from a deeply-rooted love for the pioneering and era-defining House movement of the late 80’s. These principles are strongly evident in his productions and DJ sets, with his well rounded knowledge of house music’s origins adding an element of originality in today’s ever growing and, maybe, over-saturated music scene.
Aside from his dedication to underground music, Tom's eclectic taste is often revealed in his extended warm up sets, being known for his adept and diverse track selection, playing anything from straight up disco to more deep, alternative sounds.
After a successful 2016, achieving high chart positions on a number of releases, coupled with continued support from artists such as Marco Carola, Josh Butler and Claptone, a string of exciting releases and projects to come means the future is certainly looking even stronger.
