Music Makes Sense - 006 - Alex Bowhay (4th Birthday Countdown)
Ahead of our 4th birthday we asked a few of our guests to put together 30min mixes of music you can expect to hear on the night.
Having always had a huge love for all things music since a very young age, Alex has had an upbringing where different styles of music have surrounded him always. Originally falling in love with Heavy Metal it was not until Alex broadened his horizons with artists such as Pendulum which then transferred him onto Drum and Bass. With a love for anything that kicks hard and beats fast it’s from this his music developed onto Jump Up, Liquid, Drumstep then Dubstep before evidently being brought into the house scene.
It was a big change for Alex but experiencing house clubs and listening to deep house, which was dominating the scene at the time, his music taste quickly rolled over due the friends he was surrounded by. After seeing artists such as Huxley and Dusky, these DJ’s played a major role on the music that comes into Alex’s sets, major examples of these being Huxley and the way Dusky play out live.
The variety of clubs that Alex ventured too, be that Techno, Hardcore Techno, Minimal, Tech House. Funk/Disco or Electro House clubs all play on the style that Alex develops his sets from - He tries to draw a bit of everything from this into his music. After supporting acts such as Miguel Campbell, Basement Jaxx, Eli & Fur, Kevin Knapp and Tough Love to name a few, Alex’s style can be spread over various types of parties whilst keeping it fresh and to keep the audience guessing.
