Ahead of the first Sense Traxx release of 2017 we thought we’d find out the top 5 inspirational tracks from one of our residents and man behind the ‘Fallen’ EP, Tom Jay.
It’s not difficult to notice Tom’s distinguished forward thinking Chicago and Acid house style sound, so it’s unsurprising that these top inspirational 5 tracks all originate from that era.
5. Marshall Jefferson – Move your body
This track's claim to fame is the first use of piano on a house record. It’s also been dubbed ‘The House Music Anthem’. Timeless classic!
4. Adonis – No way back
Adonis was 19 years old when he made the dystopian classic "No Way Back," one of Chicago house music's most iconic tracks. A jacking masterpiece!
3. TC Berry – 1991
High energy acid house guaranteed to get the crowd going, this track was a regular in the Hacienda!
2. Fallout – The Morning After (Sunrise Mix)
An electronic masterpiece from 1987. Tracks don’t get much more euphoric than this.
1. Housefactors – Play it Loud
A Larry Heard Gem. Pure Chicago house vibes. Released back in 1988.
Fresh from a string of successful 2016 releases Sense Traxx kicks off 2017 with a four track EP from returning producer Tom Jay, featuring remixes by Simon Shaw and Julyan Dubson.
Since his last release with Sense Traxx back in May, producer Tom Jay is back doing what he does best, and returns with some new club focused old school leaning house jams. Having been brought up on a diet of golden era 80’s acid and Chicago house it is easy to spot Jay’s musical influences, however he brings a contemporary and refreshing take on this classic sound. Remixes come from Sense Traxx head honcho and house music aficionado Simon Shaw, as well as label regular Julyan Dubson.
